What we provide

These services include initial assessments, ongoing support, training, and access to therapeutic services. We work closely with local authorities and other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to care. Our service provision is underpinned by policies and guidance that

"Every child deserves a champion — an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possibly be."

How Do We Champion and Care for Our Foster Carers and Children?

At Heart and Home, we believe fostering is about belonging — for children and for carers. The moment you take the first step to offer your heart and your home to a child; you become part of us.

  1. Children often face significant trauma, loss, rejection, and neglect impacting their emotional wellbeing.
  2. Attachment and relationship challenges affect children’s trust and ability to form bonds with adults.
  3. Many children experience delays in development compared to their peers due to early adversity.
  4. Difficulties regulating emotions and behaviour often manifest as anger, withdrawal or confusion in family settings.
  5. Foster carers create a safe and secure environment where children can feel protected and nurtured.
  6. They help children feel understood by offering empathy and emotional support during challenging times.
  7. Heart and Home Fostering offer a therapeutic and relational framework where carers feel supported and not isolated during challenging moments. Children also get to express their stories through behaviour, emotion, or silence, which carers are trained to interpret.

Fostering Allowance – What You Need to Know

Fostering is incredibly rewarding, and while the emotional benefits are priceless, we also recognise the importance of financial support. At Heart and Home Fostering Group, we offer a competitive fostering allowance to thank you for the care and commitment you give to children and young people.

What Does the Allowance Cover?

The fostering allowance helps cover the everyday costs of caring for a child. This includes things like:

Food and household expenses
Clothing and school supplies
Pocket money and outings
Your time, care, and the nurturing home you provide

How Is the Allowance Calculated?

The amount you receive depends on:

As you grow in your role and complete additional training, you may choose to offer more specialist care—such as therapeutic fostering—which comes with additional support and a higher allowance.

The age and needs of the child
The type of fostering you provide
Your experience and training
